Enjoy a sedate ride on the Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée (PLM) route
Having sped from London on Eurostar to Paris, why not then dawdle through France? True, there are plenty of TGVs which speed south from Paris, reaching Marseille in just over three hours, but we often take slower trains instead. The journey we describe in Route 7 is the classic line south from Paris (via Sens and Dijon), which is dubbed the Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée (PLM) route. PLM was the company which introduced to the route such celebrated luxury trains as the Côte d’Azur Rapide and Le Train Bleu.
